backk after so long ... in case anyone's asking, i'm feelin better liao. haha, anyway time for updates

well...
jus had phy and chem test the past few days. super lousy lah, definitely gonna fail. i handed in both pprs almost 2/3 blank lah. i jus dont understd leh... how come i can do tutorials but my mind goes all blank during tests? ugh... whatever
PE is rather fun now that we're playin floorball. still rmbed tat i used to play alot of it during sec4 sia. miss it! and miss my frens too! lucky i met them yday during HS's bday party. haha. oh ya, HS invited lots of Victorians ... all very familiar and i went ard asking, "u frm VJ izit?" haha... silly me
among all the victorians... i only manage to identify Yvonne and Sheena ... oh ya...

let's talk abt today..
loved svc cos they played Shepherd! love that song... oredi played it exactly 600 times on my iTunes liao, crazy right? haha ... pastor's sermon also spoke to me quite alot lah, plus we had the talk abt Da Vinci Code, was kinda interesting bcos Pastor Victor began naming some details of the book which are totally lies lah... seriously, some of us were laughin bcos it was so fake lah!! i guess the book will mesmerize u until u cant identify the lies. oh wells ...

think i'm having piano prac with my partner tmrw after sch. some guy from choir, enoch ah? HS said he's erm ... not very nice? haha .. hope he isnt true but how come i cant get a girl or smth ah? oops.. oh ya, think i havent told anyone yet right? i'm in Piano Emsemble liao... damn slack, hoping to join Guit emsemble though but the president said maybe too late, think i'll see the teacher IC and ask..

lookin forward to nxt Sat cos it's RL Congre mtg and i'm serving the Lord once again in the band.. really appreciate the opportunity man, plus this time at Magicbox, yay! i must say lah ... the keyboard at Daniel Hall (TC) abit suck lor, i'm sry. but it's true mah ... but the rehearsal timings abit odd.. it'll be afew hrs before the actual thing, super rush lah ... oh wells, lucky most of the songs i'm familiar. oh.. we're playing Shepherd!! but i cant seem to identify the keyboard parts leh ... think i must ask Janelle liao... hmmm

there's sch tmrw, haiz not lookin forward cos i've been slping rather little these few days.. bcos i spent Fri and Sat night playing Kingdom Hearts 2 lah, play til 2 or 3 am lor ... wat was i thinkin man? haha ...
needa arrange my timing well liao. needa prac more for my Piano Diploma, Piano Emsem Concert and Congre Worship lah... sickening ...

i'm backk ... these few days have been rather interesting man !!

1) Wed Rehearsal
2) Sports Day aka Speech Day
3) Good Friday

--- wed rehearsal ---

finished sch super early, ard 2plus .... then went for Chemistry test on Chem Equilibrium, was rather tough. the moment it started, i oredi flipped to 2nd pg liao. but thank God, prayed and at the end, i could answer most of the Qns. must thank God for that, claps in a praising manner*

after that, i chionged dwn to Parkway. met Liangming and Lionel. initial plan was to play Lan but.. we had to sign up for some membership thingy, super troublesome... in the end, we went to play pool. it's been a long time since i played, i rmbed that i used to play pool alot in VJ's Igloo ... tat was when ben was the CT rep, haha
butt joined us as well. must say... she's power lah, and the entire pool session was super funny. liangming kept on laughin, it was those kind of laughter that will oso cause u to laugh even though u have no idea what's going on (butt was wearing a shirt that had the exact same words, haha) ...

had the skit rehearsal at 7plus. overally, it was great to have a feel of the place and experience how the run-through would be like. could see that everyone was super focused .. me too, cos i gonna "destroy stuff" for real this time so it would be so much diff. think Gen looked super funny in the pinafore, she looked pregnant ... haha, jus kiddin lah.

ended ard 10plus... thank God that Krystle's dad came to fetch her, and lucky she stays in Simei area. i need not spend on taxi fare, yay! thx Krystle... reached home super shagged. showered and throw myself into bed... zzz

--- Sports Day / Speech Day ---

sch ended at 11plus ... but bcos Tan was at the gate, i decided to stay in the canteen first. was rather pissed cos i was supposed to get a letter from him personally and he was super reluctant to gimme a excuse letter bcos i couldnt present him the letter from BGSS that i needa go for their Speech Day. plus, he was super rude ... "can u please go out? i dont want to see ur face and talk to u" ... huh? i didnt even act rude or anythin lor, must he even say that? ugh ...

in the end, BGSS faxed a letter to VJ ... LauWeeHua helped me and told me to heck care abt Tan ... i jus approached the gate and gave the letter to the vice-principal. thank God he let me off.. wipes sweat off forehead*

reached BGSS at 1plus. jus actually instructed by Mdm Mark-Tan to write a speech. it was hectic, imagine writing a speech in 2hrs... stressed sia!!!
i borrow miss Tan's laptop (thank God for her man) and started typing my way...
in the end, mrs Bhaskaran came over and asked, "Darren, who ask u to write a speech? " -_-" thanks Mdm Mark ...
yep. so i chionged a speech in 2hrs and in the end, i was told not to give me at all ... was abit irritated but nvm lah.

speech day commenced.
i received 4awards (based on O level results):
1) Top in Level/Standard
2) Top in Chemistry
3) Top in Phy
4) Top in Amath

my name was super craved into the "Top O Level scorers of BGSS" board. honoured but thankful as well ..

really amazed how God has blessed me thrh my results. i would nvr have expected to get these results. Laupa, i'm speechless.

S61 had a bbq at East Coast... really wanted to go, but i had piano lesson. oredi dragged it for quite some time so i must go mah ... sry guys!! guess u guys had fun ya?

Christians, let's take a moment to thank God in ur own way for this day. the day He hung on the cross and died for our sins. let's rmb His love for us and let's praise Him for His Sacrifices! Laupa! thx for sending ur only son to die for us. indeed, u deserve our lives!!

indeed.. TGIF: Thank God It's Friday ... thank god bcos this friday is so diff.

woke up at 7 and went dwn to Parkway. bus31 takes super long to come lah, i think i waited at the bus-stop ard 20mins lor ... haiz, but thank God that i still reached in time... haha
started rehearsing straway. finally had a chance to watch the video, think i looked super weird and my expression like wanna laugh oredi lor ... haha, super funny!!

TGIF program commences ard 11plus.

had fun with the games. was also rather shocked.. bcos Mr Clarence Tng (btw, he's in my church too) brought ex-BGSSian for this event ... i know one of them was Jolene, gosh, they look so diff.

was rather nervous the moment it was time for the skit to start. heart was pounding, plus the audience wasnt helpin much. lots of laughter jus spoils my conc, but thank God for the right timings and the right emotions. think i managed to potray the "anger" that was necessary.

on the whole, i think TGIF was a major success!! joce, next time ask me again ok! i would be most happy to do so. still rmbed that i was rather uncomfortable abt acting, but i guess the experience changed my thinking? haha...

wanna take a moment to thank some pple (cheers to u guys) :

-joce & butt: great producers for the skit. helped us to co-ordinate everythin and taught everyone how to express the right emotions.

-rest of the committee: great job well done!!!

-actors/actresses: we rock man!! everythin turned out super well lah...

-gen & krystle: nothin much to say expect... it was great working with u two, nxt time again ok? haha

cant believe that this day has ended so quickly, amazed at how much hardwork we put in ... yet it only lasted 10mins ++ ... haha!!

back from rehearsals at EXPO Coffee Bean, it has rather enjoyable actually. btw, i'm one of the 3 main characters !! feelin so privileged man ... ahhh.

gen and krystle are the other 2 characters, think they're extremely cut out for acting. on the other hand, think i'm rather stiff... shall try to work on facial expressions more and be more expressive. gen is currently nicknamed, "STAR IDOL to be" while Krystle is apparently my VJ senior who takes TSD ... both are qualified "actresses" lor ... claps*

first of all, wanna affirm Yaohan for chiong-ing dwn to do the filming for us even though he was notified last-min... how come nvr inform earlier man? haha... think he did an awesome job with his knowledge abt filming. he knew which angles to take the scene from lor, must really thank him man ... think he had more work than us (the 3 characters)...

wanna thank Butt and Joce for writing the script and being the directors/producers ... think it's a tough job lah, right? haha ... let's pray that it'll all turn out awesome alright? haha

there's another rehearsal tmr at my hse ... haha, really excited although (roughly) 20+ pple are coming over ... guys, i dont think my living room that big lor ... haha, try to squeeze? really excited cos we're gonna do the whole run through...
our full dress rehearsal is on Wed at TC... excited, but i needa think of the outfit to fit the script...

jus finished reading through the script, i realised that my role is rather _____ ... i dont wanna let the secret out man, u guys have to wait til nxt Fri and u'll see me in action. but it's quite demanding... basically, i'm acting as someone with a personality unlike mine ...
frankly speaking, it's a 'dangerous' role to act ... as said by Lionel. do keep me in prayer and i think i shall fast for this wk man ... may seem quite exaggerated but it's better safe than sorry.

things to pray for (regarding skit) :
1) wisdom and ability to memorise my script by Wed, haha
2) allow the Holy Spirit to be working through me during the whole course of the rehearsals and final act nxt Fri ...
3) the entire committee needs prayers too, eg: games, admin and etc etc. think everyone is putting in tonnes of effort, but let's not forget that God controls it, not us... having said that, jiayou guys!

dan and eve are finally parents! their baby girl has jus been delivered !!! woohoo! her name is Ignez Lee Song En, i wanna see her man! haha ... a new member into our family!! Praise be to God !!!

i cant begin to say how thankful i am to u lord, things are definitely changing ... i see the transformations. prayers are wonders ...

i'm finally back here bloggin ... abit of stuff to update u guys on. this wk has been okay okay lah ...

ever since the start of my JC life, i've always complained that JC life sucks... it's tiring, stressful and very xiong. and finally my body has given up and broken down. FYI: i've been sick for 2days liao...dont wry, i'm feelin much better liao ... no more temp. except i still have the bland taste in my mouth, to me, tat's the worst part when u're sick. still ... i wanna Praise the Lord for healing me in jus ONE day! amazing how my prayers can be answered in jus a short while. wanna thank my xiaomeis, sisters and brothers, esp Lionel and Dan for prayin for me ... really appreciate it. these things come for a reason, i have more faith to trust now ...

couple of reasons why i got sick:

1) too stressed up with JC life - the stress refers to how busy i am, not how much i study ... frankly speakin, only the hmwk. kills me and drains my brain. eg: maths tutorial on conics. i donno why, but it takes me ages to finish one Qn (the Qn has part i, ii, iii) and it's super sickening ... cos i cant rmb the formulaes yet and when i finish one Qn, i usually give up. another eg: Econs bcos it's getting more chim man. lookin back, demand & supply , elasticity and application is so simple lah (except for essay part) ... now we're at Market Structure liao lor and i've yet to read on the 2 prev chapt on Economies of Scale & Size of Firms, and Theory of Production & Costs... sickenin

2) in case u havent watched the news lately, u realise that it has been raining almost everyday? ... tat's the reason why i got sick too ... how? i walked in the rain on Tues, was hoping for it to stop by goin for 3rd period PE but in the end, i couldnt tahan and walked slowly (i shud have chionged) out of VJ, cross the overhead bridge and to the bus-stop. my fault i admit ...

so i took MC for Thurs and today. was actually feelin alot better this morning (temp. was 36.9'C) but i told my mom, "can i take a day off?" haha ... think i really need the break lah, exams are round the corner and i think now's the right time to even ask for a well-deserved rest ... and i got 4days of rest man, Thurs + Today + Sat + Sun ... yay!
supposed to go for some session tmr at VJ but i'm not goin... bcos i'm still not 100% sure that i'll be okay tmr. being sick sucks, but being sick at the right timings is sometimes satisfying

moving on...

i got my mid-yr exam timetables on Wed. it starts on 20++ of June, tat's str away after June Hols. it's gonna be tough and stuff cos it's my 1st exam in JC, excited yet lots of work is required. before midyrs, we have lots of extra extra stuff. here are some:

1) nxt wk (if i'm not wrong) is SPA mock Practical for Chem (donno abt Phy) ... testing us on Skill A ( this one super diff lah) and Skill B ( simple, done it 7+ times liao lor)

2) the wk after (aka 5th wk of the term) is the beginning of lectures assessment. meaning that we're having tests on every lecture, which means i needa memorise the new chapt ... and.. oso recap all the prev stuff taught, sian liao

aint lookin forward to all of these

there's rehearsals tmr for the Skit main characters, who are involved in the Good Friday Harvest Event

would anyone be interested to come for this Good Friday Harvest Event? it's gonna be lots of fun and ... u'll receive a "present" that will last Eternity ( i bet the Christians know what it is hor?) well these are the details: 11am to 3pm at TouchCentre (aka Parkway area) 3rd level on 14th April (nxt Fri)
if you're interested, pls notify me thrh SMS or MSN ... would appreciate it if u could lemme noe asap, preferably by nxt Mon (Lionel, sry i cant confirm that soon)

bcos i was sick for yday and today. i wasnt able to go with Lionel on Thurs to visit Butt at Yami Yoghurt, sry to call it off last min ya? haha ... nxt time ba... today, i wasnt able to go for JTS (FYI: it's a VJ tradition that we have the Juniors Treat Seniors ) at Airport Swensens. did u guys have fun? haha ...

if i'm not wrong, i need not go for VJ Sports' Day nxt Thurs ... bcos BGSS is having Speech Day and since i'm the top student, they invited me back ... yay! it's been a long time since i visited the teachers man, haha ... i hope i dont have to give speech (last yr's top student from our Seniors' batch had to give one)

anyway, i'm gonna ... actually, i donno what i'm gonna do nxt, haha

think it's been such a cycle. cant even find much free time, cos most of the free time is jus for me to relax and recharge myself for the nxt hrs of studyin or the nxt day. seriously, if u thud JC life was quite slack... u can think again, it's not even close

anyway, been away for wat?9 or 10 days again? haiz, sry pple.
lots have been happening... think i'll post abt the more significant stuff, but on a whole, this whole wk has been late nights man...

Thurs 300306

went to have lunch with Jean, Jeff, Chen and Changyi at Parkway BK, cos suchen (or izit jeannie?) had coupons. haha
took bus197 to TCT, was quite doubtful of this bus cos i scared it doesnt bring to Bukit Merah lor, ugh... reached ard 5plus and began studyin at Macs, clar joined me later on. thank God sia, or else i'd be bored and lonely to death man, haha ... l

had band prac at TCT for RL288 Leaders' Mtg which is tmr. practised with a diff set of pple, must say that they're quite pro lah. much more experience than DE band, it's great to be able to be a part cos i get to learn new stuff frm the other keyboardist (donno her name though, i'm such a failure). on a whole, it was a new "environment" to work with pple that i'm not very familiarise with.

the members are:
1) Daniel Kalai (lead vocalist and co-ordinator)
2) Lionel (backup vocalist and harmoniser, haha) ---> my cell leader
3) Clarissa (backup vocalist) ---> spiritual sister
4) Dylan (elec guit.) ---> brother in Christ
5) Yi Liang (acoustic)
6) Camy (bass, i personally think she's quite power for a girl)
7) Lin De (drummer, think he's gd but he's quite nervous)
8) Danny (saxphonist, nvr worked with one before. think he's quite cool man)
9) erm ... there's 2 other backup vocalist but i forget who they are, i'm sry ...

think the songs that we played, was a great challenge to me. esp Hosanna, cos the entire first verse and chorus is keyboard solo lor, stressed sia. haha but i think after hearing the song over 50times, it really helps and i'm been able to play quite well for it. right guys? haha

rehearsals only ended at 10plus... had to cab home cos it was super far, plus bus rides would take 1+ hrs...gosh

Fri 310306

PE was quite tiring cos the teacher (donno why) got pissed and punished us to do some stupid exercise and in the end, we had no choice but to play Captain's Ball, quite pissed cos i was hoping to do Vball. not really into Vball but it's way better than captain's ball lor, captain's ball is kinda pri sch dont u think?

oh wells, had Phy test after that. overally okay except for one question whereby the final answer is -113`C (if i rmb correctly) ? crazy answer, checked it many many times but still got the same thing. oh wells, think i'll pass.
it was followed by Chinese test. the new format really sucks man, it really demands alot of reading of the txbk passages lor. hoping that i'll pass though. bet it's damn sad for suchen and the rest cos they didnt get much time to study and read, cos of trainings.. btw suchen, ur comp starting this wk right? jiayou ok? do VJ proud and win hor, haha...

btw, i hate PW. it's been so mind-racking man, for the first time in mths... i had to focus and begin brainstorming, smth that i've not been doin for awhile, haha. but... i must like it, and i'm hoping to finish my PI by Mon (doubtful) or Tues ... think i'll ask help from Joce, Butt or Suang man, i seriously have no clue on how to tackle the topic lah, haiz

EM came back to VJ and popped into class during PW period, bet weehua oso abit shocked ... realised that she looks quite gd in long hair, so dont tie it up hor! haha... jus kiddin man

rushed home after PW period, had to prepare for RL288 Leaders' mtg tonight.

met Sheryl when i got dwn at Parkway, guess she jus finish tabletennis trg as well. and she started complainin abt the showers in VJ being used up cos many pple are bathin and preparing for Musicfest... haha, wished i could go but i've got a job to do!

RL started late i guess... was rather worried cos Hosanna was played a semitone lower and i didnt prac with that key, so i had to do last min. prac and tried to memorise the notes, haha. oh wells, think it turned out fine.

the entire worship session was awesome, could feel God's presence alot. esp for Worship songs cos it brings the mood lah. to me, i enjoy worship songs more than praise songs cos the words and lyrics mean alot alot, can really speak ur heart at times.
wanna affirm the band cos i think we were really really used to a great extent, could sense that it was more of Holy Spirit than us (i can confirm that, cos smth happened during the worship session but i managed to play w/o any thinking and w/o my eyes open) ...

above that, the mtg was super powerful. talked alot abt Discipleship and winning pple for Christ, think many of the leaders including myself, responded to God in one way or another. tears, laughter, slained, trembling are jus the few egs

personally, this mtg was really worth the time. think the Lord spoke to each and every one of us differently.

woke up super early for SOL classes. first of all, needa apologise to Eunice cos she waited so long for me and the CHUA sisters (who reached at 830, yet they still had the cheek to say, "like u nvr late before". liddat win oredi lor)
oh ya, sarah's voice is erm ... different, frankly speakin i think this voice is much better, dont really like the high-pitch voice that she originally has. but, really hope u recover asap. take care sister!

alot of details regardin SOL classes and svc, so i wont elaborate.
but i needa say this, think the Lord really answered my prayer of "speak to me during svc and classes". for the entire day, everythin that was preached and taught felt so applicable and it jus touched my heart lor. alot of emotions and obviously, tears again. think i've been respondin to altar call for quite a long time liao, cant help it if God chooses to speak to me, cant help it if i respond to God either. but it was powerful and smth i really thud i needed.
had a mini-celebration for Dan's bday. sry dad for not gettin a present or a card..heehee

the day ends liddat lor... not lookin forward to the wk, it would be another tiring and boring wk whereby i go thrh the exact same cycle.
not lookin forward to JTS, cos i'm short of cash currently. haiz, but i'll be there lah.

btw... sisters and brothers, wanna visit Benita at her workplace (Yumi Yoghurt)? i'm plannin to visit her on Thurs ard 4plus. joce u joining me? lemme noe, think we shud surprise her or smth. haha
